These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chargeback Shield Shopify application ("the Service"). By installing or using Chargeback Shield, you agree to these Terms.
Chargeback Shield is a Shopify application that analyses order and refund data to calculate risk scores and help merchants identify potential refund abuse. The Service is provided on a subscription basis through the Shopify billing system.
You must have a valid Shopify store and be authorised to install apps on that store to use Chargeback Shield. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Chargeback Shield is offered on a tiered subscription basis, billed monthly in USD through Shopify's subscription billing system:
Where a free trial is included, it begins on the date of installation. After the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically begin at the plan's monthly rate unless you cancel before the trial ends. Scale, Pro, and Enterprise plans begin billing immediately upon subscription.
All billing is managed by Shopify. Shopify's billing terms apply to all charges. You can cancel your subscription or change your plan at any time from within the app's Settings or Plans & Billing page.
You agree to use Chargeback Shield only for its intended purpose — helping your business assess refund risk. You must not:
Chargeback Shield provides risk assessments based on available order and refund data. These scores are informational tools only. We do not guarantee that:
You are solely responsible for your refund and fulfilment decisions. Chargeback Shield's risk scores should be used as one input among many — not as a definitive verdict.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We aim to keep Chargeback Shield available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances outside our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from temporary service interruptions.
All rights, title, and interest in Chargeback Shield — including its code, design, and content — remain with us. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chargeback Shield and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid in subscription fees in the three months prior to the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chargeback Shield and its creators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
You may cancel your subscription and stop using the Service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms or Shopify's policies.
Upon termination, your store's data will be deleted from our systems within 24 hours.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Chargeback Shield operates. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before any legal action is taken.
