Frequently asked questions

How do I install Chargeback Shield?

Click "Add to Shopify" on our homepage and follow the installation flow. The whole process takes less than a minute. Once installed, run a scan from the dashboard to score your existing orders.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings inside the app and scroll down to the Subscription section. Click "Cancel subscription" and confirm. Your subscription will be cancelled immediately and you won't be charged again.

Why is an order showing as HIGH risk?

Click on the order in the Review Queue to see the full list of risk reasons. Common signals include a high number of recent refunds, address clustering with other flagged orders, disposable email addresses, and velocity spikes.

Can I adjust the risk thresholds?

Yes. Go to Settings and scroll to the Risk Scoring section. You can adjust the point thresholds for MED and HIGH risk, as well as the weights for individual signals.

What does "order hold" mean?

When order hold is enabled in Settings, Chargeback Shield will automatically request a fulfilment hold on HIGH-risk orders. This prevents them from being shipped until you manually review and release them.

The scan returned 0 orders โ€” why?

This usually means your store doesn't have orders in the selected time window, or the "Read all orders" permission hasn't been granted. Go to Shopify Admin โ†’ Settings โ†’ Apps and sales channels โ†’ Chargeback Shield โ†’ and enable "Read all orders" access. Then run the scan again.

Is my customers' data safe?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell or share your data with third parties. If you uninstall the app, your data is deleted within 24 hours. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

I found a bug โ€” how do I report it?
